Clients have often asked how they can show their gratitude for a wonderful massage session that relieves their pain and stress. If you want to show appreciation to your Massage Therapist, one of the best things you can do is to tell others about your experience.

What people say about their massage reveals much more than any other type of advertising. After all, when someone wants to know about a business, one of the first things they probably do is look at customer reviews and feedback. By telling your friends and family about your trust and confidence in your therapist, you’re providing direct feedback to potential clients, and that’s worth a lot!

So the next time you want to let your Massage Therapist know just how much he or she means to you, make sure you spread the word to friends and family. Word of mouth referral is the highest form of compliment.

When it comes to Massage Therapy, comfort is important! Whether it’s the temperature in the room, the aromatherapy, the music played, or the pressure used, the therapist’s goal is to help the client feel relaxed and comfortable. And because of that, it’s essential to be at ease with your individual Massage Therapist.

Massage Therapy can be considered personal, so the relationship you have with your therapist is one thing to consider when evaluating your experience. Does your therapist use the right pressure during the massage? Is he or she too talkative? Not talkative enough? Professional? Receptive to your concerns? These are all questions you need to ask yourself as you think about your experience.

If you have preferences, any discomforts, concerns or questions, even if you think it’s “not important”, you should definitely speak up! You’re in charge, and the role of your therapist is to help you. If you don’t communicate your concerns, conditions are not going to change, and you probably won’t benefit from your sessions.

Your Massage Therapist is dedicated to doing his or her best to help you feel at ease, so make sure that you’re happy with your sessions. Not only will it be better for you, but it’ll be helpful for your therapist to get the feedback, too.

Massage Therapists often incorporate Aromatherapy into their sessions with the use of essential oils, the concentrated essences of various flowers, fruits, leaves and roots. And while you may think this practice is just to provide a pleasant smell, Aromatherapy does have another function. Did you know Aromatherapy includes the word “therapy” for a reason? That’s right. There is a use for essential oils beyond simply charm and fragrance!

Different oils have different functions; some help you feel energized, some help you feel relaxed, some are effective against bacteria and viruses, and still others can calm inflamed skin. Of course, their scents are something each person reacts to differently, so even though a particular oil may be generally used for relaxation, you might not really like the smell very much, so another oil would work better for you.

Aromatherapy can be an effective and pleasant means of enhancing your well-being. Be sure to discuss your needs and expectations with your Massage Therapist to begin enjoying these gifts of nature.

If you’ve never had a massage, you may be wondering about what makes Massage Therapists qualified to do what they do. After all, some Massage Therapists work with medical patients recovering from injuries and surgeries, and working with muscles the wrong way could lead to further injury.

In Florida, Massage Therapists are required to be licensed. This means they have to take classes, and they have to maintain their license by renewing it periodically.

Renewing a Florida state license through the Dept. of Health means taking additional classes. Some of the course work covers topics like ethics and Florida laws, but the majority of them are hands-on classes in Massage Therapy. So when Massage Therapists renew their licenses, you can be sure they’re staying up to date, and not just sending in an online application.

The Florida Dept. of Health, through its Division of Medical Quality Assurance, has as its purpose the protection of the public through health care licensure, enforcement and information.

My work as a Massage Therapist has given me so many opportunities to meet a variety of interesting people. Since I work closely with clients, one-on-one, for an hour at a time, I get the chance to interact with fascinating people every day.

Working in a different profession might not provide the likelihood of meeting such great people. Sure, I might talk to some interesting callers on the phone, or meet some friends through office meetings or common projects, but as a Massage Therapist, every day is different, every person is different, and every massage is different. It brings a uniqueness to my life in a way nothing else can.

And as much as people tell me they appreciate what they get from their massages, I have to say that I get so much from them, too! I feel so fortunate to have the privilege to spend concentrated time with these amazing people in such a beautiful, peaceful setting with no interruptions. It makes every day I go to work truly joyful.

Many business owners take time to show their appreciation for new customers, and that’s great. In fact, I love meeting new customers too. But it’s also important to show appreciation for the clients who come back time and time again. It means a lot that you enjoy your experiences enough to return!

That’s why, when I offer discounts to attract new clients, I’m happy to offer the same discounts to loyal clients as well. After all, it’s many of those people who have given me the good fortune to meet others, and without those loyal clients, I wouldn’t have nearly as much fun as I do in my work as a Massage Therapist.

For those of you who aren’t considered “new” clients anymore, never doubt how thankful I am for you. You are just as valuable to me as anyone else who walks through the doors!
